We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Sore On Gums Health.

Here is an aspect of taking care of yourself to live powerfully with type 2 diabetes. It is taking care of your oral health.

Recent studies have shown an increased risk between poor oral health and heart disease.

The risk for heart disease increases even more when you have poor oral health and type 2 diabetes.

This is because diabetes already puts you at twice the risk of heart disease than the general population. So when you add poor oral health to the mix you more than double your risk.

The mouth has thousands of different bacteria, fungi and viruses. Normally with proper oral hygiene and well-functioning salivary glands, these do not cause any problems.

However when the mouth becomes unhealthy due to poor oral health then a number of dental problems can set in.

The most common teeth and gum problems associated with type 2 diabetes are:

tooth decay gum disease altered taste fungal infections commonly called oral thrush dry mouth infections

Poorly controlled diabetes can lead to tooth decay and gum disease

When blood sugar levels are not well controlled, this leads to hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia can cause bacteria and fungi to thrive in the saliva. This leads to the development of plaque.

Plaque is a hard material that builds up in the mouth. It attaches to the surface and in between the teeth. It can also collect beneath the gum line. When this happens, the gums become inflamed. This is called periodontal disease.

People who do not have well controlled diabetes are at risk for periodontal disease. Eventually, the gum disease becomes so bad that they lose their teeth.

Here are some signs of periodontal disease. If you have any of these signs then see a dentist as soon as possible.

gums that bleed easily red swollen and painful gums bad breath bad taste pus in between teeth or when the gums are pressed gums that have been pulled away from the teeth

Diabetes can also cause fungal infections

The mouth naturally has thousands of species of bacteria, viruses and fungi. The good thing is that the bodies natural defense system keeps them all in check so that they do not cause any problems.

Oral thrush is a fungal infection that can occur in people with type 2 diabetes.

There are several reasons why you can get fungal infections:

Wearing dentures Cigarette smoking Hyperglycemia Antibiotics Dry mouth

How to reduce dental problems

Brush your teeth twice a day with a soft toothbrush. You can also use a electric toothbrush. Floss between your teeth at least once a day Change your toothbrush at least every 3 months Disinfect your toothbrush regularly. You can place it in a microwave or a dishwasher. Use an antimicrobial mouthwash Use a toothpaste that has fluoride Watch for any signs of dental problems and tell your dentist Quit smoking Drink water regularly to keep the mouth moist A dash of 100% peppermint essential oil in water is a great natural breath freshener.

See your dentist regularly

Schedule an appointment twice a year to see your dentist. If you have any sores or pain in your mouth be sure to let your dentist know. Let your dentist know if your blood sugars levels are out of control. Also let your dentist know if there is any change in your medical history. Do not take any oral medications that could lower your blood sugar before seeing the dentist. If you are going to have dental work done and you are taking a blood thinner, be sure to let your dentist know this. The dentist will probably want to get a medical clearance from your primary healthcare provider.

So take the time to make sure that you pay attention to the health of your mouth. That way you will not go through the pain from lost teeth.

Let's face it dental care to replace lost teeth can be very costly. So why not invest in prevention and not a cure?

Take an active role to improve your oral health and diabetes.

Ong, The Philippine STAR Canker sores are small shallow and painful lesions inside the mouth. Locally, it is known as singaw. It's not contagious but it can make eating and talking very painful. What causes canker sore? It usually starts with a small injury (from teeth braces, accidental biting and abrasion from the teeth). In some cases, it could be stress-related or may be due to a lack of vitamin Bs. If you have this problem like me, I'm sure you've tried a lot of home remedies that doesn't really work. Don't try putting calamansi, salt or what have you. According to Dr. Elmer De La Cruz, an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist, here are the tips to treat canker sores: 1. Use Solcoseryl Ointment -- Solcoseryl Ointment is applied to the sore 3-5 times a day. It has an anesthetic effect and numbs the pain. 2. Eat Yoghurt -- According to Dr. De La Cruz, yoghurt is particularly helpful because it coats all the canker sores, even in places where it is hard to reach, like the throat and inner gums. I take 1-2 tablespoons of yoghurt, every hour or so. This is just enough to cover the sores and hasten its healing. 3. Consider taking antibiotics, like Amoxicillin 500 mg capsule three times a day for 5 days. Sometimes, there is an accompanying sore throat or inflamed tonsils which can benefit from antibiotics. Ask your doctor first. 4. Drink 8-12 glasses of water a day -- Drinking lots of water will keep your mouth wet and help ...

Canker Sore On Gums! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

While you can best achieve and maintain good tooth and gum health naturally with a long-term preventative, holistic approach that combines herbs and other natural substances with a healthy diet, an effective daily oral-hygiene routine, and regular dental check-ups, for those times when you still experience tooth and gum discomforts or ailments, a wide variety of herbs can soothe the mouth, lessen the pain, and aid in healing the condition. If you are experiencing tooth and gum problems, the best first step is to begin and maintain a routine as described above (see my previous article, "Enhance Your Dental Health Naturally: A Holistic Approach to Herbs for Healthy Teeth and Gums" for a wealth of information and possibilities). In addition to your regular oral-hygiene routine, you can also apply specific herbal and natural treatments for all manner of tooth and gum ailments, ranging from bad breath and canker sores, to discomfort from dental procedures, to gum disease, toothaches and abscesses.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the real about Canker Sore On Gums. You check this out article for information on an individual wish to know is Canker Sore On Gums.

How is Herbal and Natural Remedies for Common Tooth and Gum Ailments

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Canker Sore On Gums.

It is important to exercise care when using herbs. Some herbs can be toxic if used for too long or in too great amounts. In addition, the active ingredients in some herbs are not recommended for certain health conditions, and can react negatively with prescription medications or other remedies. It is therefore recommended, especially if you are pregnant or nursing, wish to treat a child, have special health conditions, or are taking prescription medications, that you research the remedies that interest you before using them, and consult a qualified professional if you have questions or doubts. For more severe tooth and gum ailments, it is recommended that you combine any at-home treatment with a trip to the dentist.

Bad Breath

In addition to good oral hygiene, you can also freshen your breath by chewing whole fennel seeds, clove buds, whole cinnamon bark pieces, peeled cardamom pods, or parsley leaves. A mouthwash containing rosemary, diluted essential oils of anise, cinnamon, fennel, peppermint, or tea tree essential oil, or teas made from basil, chocolate mint, fennel, juniper berries, lavender flowers, parsley, peppermint, pineapple sage flowers, rose petals, sage, or thyme and used as mouthwash, also improve the breath. If bad breath remains a problem, you can take chlorophyll capsules or acidophilus supplements, and drink parsley or wheatgrass juice daily. It also helps to eat apples and celery often, since they are natural breath fresheners. Eating a sprig of parsley or a small piece of lemon peel will freshen the breath after eating garlic. Although some texts advise against ingesting essential oils, others suggest that you can also drink a cup of peppermint tea or add two drops of anise, fennel or peppermint essential oil to a full glass of water before drinking it to freshen your breath.

Mouth Sores

Herbal and natural remedies can also soothe and heal mouth sores. Mouth sores are often linked to food allergies or nutritional deficiencies, especially of iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid, so good vitamin and mineral supplements help. Acidophilus taken internally and used as a mouth rinse also eases mouth sores. Since canker sores stem from the breakdown of connective tissue, the herb gotu kola, ingested daily as a tea, is an effective remedy since it heals connective tissue. Chamomile mouthwash treats mouth sores resulting from chemotherapy. Other good rinses for mouth sores are alum, Milk of Magnesia, and teas of marigold, sage, or chinchona bark. You can also apply myrrh gum powder directly to the sore. Licorice root, a strongly anti-inflammatory tissue healer, is considered the best remedy for mouth sores. You can apply a pinch of licorice-root powder directly to a sore, or suck on a lozenge of DGL (de-glycyrrhizinated licorice). Aloe vera also soothes sores in the mouth when applied directly. A mouthwash of chickweed, violet, or rockrose also soothes pain from mouth sores. You can rub tea-tree oil directly on a cold sore to promote healing; apply as soon as the developing sore begins to tingle. A salve of thyme, myrrh and goldenseal can treat mouth sores caused by oral herpes.

Sore and Receding Gums

You can massage certain essential oils directly into sore areas of gums. These include tea tree, clove, eucalyptus, evening primrose, summer savory and wintergreen oils. You can also rinse the mouth with fennel or chamomile tea, a mouthwash of goldenseal, marigold, sage or diluted tea-tree oil, or apply aloe vera or a naturally antibiotic ointment made of steeped red clover leaves and blossoms, directly to the gums. A preparation of myrrh, tea tree and peppermint essential oils in vodka or apple-cider vinegar can be massaged directly into the gums to strengthen them. A mixture of yerba mansa, echinacea root, myrrh tears and prickly ash bark, steeped in vodka or apple-cider vinegar and massaged into the gums after brushing, encourages regeneration of receding gum tissues. For more severe gum disease, packs containing ingredients such as turmeric, aloe, willow bark, licorice root, the antioxidant vitamin E, and powdered alum, wrapped together in gauze and placed in the corners of the mouth nightly, have been known in some cases to heal the condition in a just few months.

Toothaches

Applying a powder of blackened eggplant and salt directly to the tooth will lessen a toothache. Rinsing the mouth with hydrogen peroxide, chewing a clove bud, or even applying just plain salt to the tooth will also help. Saturating a cotton ball in an essential oil such as cayenne, clove, peppermint, summer savory, wintergreen, or tincture of hops, and placing it directly on the tooth will also ease toothaches in an emergency. Since a persistent toothache often signals a more severe condition, it is wise to visit the dentist when this symptom occurs.

Infections and Abscesses in the Mouth

Garlic, a natural antibiotic for bacterial and fungal infections, and immune system strengthener, helps heal mouth infections. Fresh oil of garlic or raw cloves are the most effective form, but you can also find odorless garlic extracts in health-food stores. A mouthwash of the horsetail herb or witch hazel also treats infections of the mouth and gums. The common weed dandelion, a blood purifier, as well as echinacea combined with myrrh and licorice root, and ointment of red clover leaves and flowers, are good treatments for mouth abscesses. A salve or ointment of sanicle, a powerfully antioxidant herb, can also heal septic wounds. In the event of an infection or abscess in the mouth, it is best to combine any at-home treatment with a trip to the dentist.

Healing After Dental Procedures

After a tooth extraction, gum surgery, or other dental procedures, you can apply annato-seed pulp to the area to enhance healing. The fresh tops of St. John's wort (also known as shepherd's purse) help stop any bleeding. A chamomile poultice reduces pain and swelling. Elderberry mouthwash following gum surgery or suture placement helps the gums to heal properly, preventing scars. Antibiotic red clover ointment, or marigold or yarrow mouthwash also enhance the healing process.

White Sore On Gums Health! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Do you see traces of blood as you rinse your teeth after brushing? Do you think it is normal and not worthy of any further thought? Well, think again. You might already be suffering from gingivitis without even knowing it!

What I said. It isn't outcome that the actual about White Sore On Gums Health. You see this article for information about that need to know is White Sore On Gums Health.

How is Dental Health - 8 Tips for Healthier Gums

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from White Sore On Gums Health.

According to the American Dental Association, or ADA, three out of four adults suffer from gingivitis. If left untreated, gingivitis can lead to gum disease, which is the leading cause of some serious dental problems and tooth loss in adults.

To prevent gingivitis and its eventual progression into a full-blown gum disease, it would be best to visit your dentist regularly. Only the dentist can diagnose the problem and give you the necessary advice and treatments. That, along with these simple suggestions, can give you a better fighting chance to ward off gum disease and enjoy better dental health forever!

Be a strict follower of the "three-three" rule. You should devote at least 3 minutes 3 times a day to oral hygiene to maintain good dental health. This is non-negotiable and there should be no ifs and or buts about it. Anything less than this could deprive your teeth of the attention they need.

Take the boredom out of brushing. Brushing and flossing are perhaps two of the most boring activities. It may just be the reason why people tend to spend less time doing it. To take the boredom out of brushing, why not try dry brushing (brushing without toothpaste)? This way you can brush your teeth and perform some other activities at the same time.

Avoid torturing your teeth! Contrary to popular belief, using toothbrushes with hard bristles and applying undue pressure while brushing will not give you cleaner teeth. Instead, it will damage the teeth's enamel and give your gums a hard time as well. So the next time you brush, use a toothbrush with soft bristles and please don't push it too hard!

Get it thoroughly cleaned. It would be wiser to brush your tongue and the roof of your mouth the next time you brush your teeth. It will increase the blood circulation around the tissues in your mouth and may help minimize the amount of bacteria present. If you are prone to tartar build-up, you might also want to try tartar control toothpaste. Just remember to look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance or Recognition when shopping around for one.

Don't forget to floss. The food debris, which find their way through the tiny crevices between your teeth, can only be removed by flossing. This is why flossing is considered extremely important in maintaining good dental health. For best results, you should floss twice during the day. You may also want to try using waxed floss to make the task a lot easier.

See what baking soda can do for your teeth! Baking soda has mild abrasive properties that can aid in getting rid of plaque. It can also neutralize the acidity produced by bacterial wastes in the mouth, serve as an effective deodorizer and give your teeth a gleaming polish! For best results, mix baking soda with a small amount of water to make a paste and use it to brush your teeth, giving special attention to the gum line. Do this at least once or twice a week and see the difference!

Eat a more balanced diet - Studies prove that a poor diet may speed up the rate of gum disease and may also increase the severity of the condition. To avoid this, make sure your body has all the nutrients it needs to maintain optimal health.

With proper care, your teeth and gums can stay healthy throughout your life. The healthier your teeth and gums are, the less risk you have for tooth decay and gum disease.

Signs that you have Gingivitis

These are the tell-tale signs that you are having problems with your gums, specifically gingivitis.

Swollen, soft, red gums. - The next time you look in the mirror before brushing, take note of these. Healthy gums should be pink in color not reddish. Gums that bleed easily, even if they're not sore. You may first detect a change in your gums when you notice that the bristles of your toothbrush are pink -- a sign that gums are bleeding with just slight pressure. A change in the color of your gums from a healthy pink to dusky red.
Causes of Gingivitis The main cause of Gingivitis is Plaque. Plaque, not the award given to someone, is an invisible, sticky film, composed primarily of bacteria, that forms on your teeth when starches and sugars in food interact with bacteria normally found in your mouth. When you brush your teeth, plaque is removed but will re-form quickly, usually in about a day. Now you know why your mom said brush your teeth everyday!

Sorry but I forgot to brush my teeth.

It's ok, just remember to rinse it with water after eating starchy foods. But don't wait 2 or 3 days before brushing your teeth because something will happen... Plaque that stays in your teeth longer than 2 or 3 days will become tartar, a hard, white substance that makes plaque much harder to remove. Tartar will also be a reservoir of bacteria. Think about it, millions of bacteria eating away at your gums.. ouch! You cannot remove tartar by brushing or flossing, you will need a professional dentist to remove it . Aside from plaque, there are other factors that will cause or aggravate gingivitis.

Drugs Viral and Fungal infections Other diseases and conditions Hormonal changes Poor nutrition
Treatment of Gingivitis Your dentist may treat gingivitis in several ways, but the first step is to thoroughly clean your teeth, removing all traces of plaque and tartar -- a procedure known as scaling. The cleaning may be uncomfortable, especially if your gums are already sensitive or you have extensive plaque and tartar buildup. Gingivitis usually clears up after a professional cleaning as long as you continue to follow a program of good oral hygiene at home. At first your gums may bleed after brushing, but this usually lasts just a few days. If you persist, you should see pink, healthy gum tissue in a short time. You'll need to practice good oral hygiene for life, however, so your gum problems don't return. Poorly fitting dental crowns as well as dental bridge makes it harder to remove plaque. Your dentist may recommend fixing these problems as well.

One of the most taken for granted aspects of everyday life is brushing one's teeth. The length of time you should brush your teeth should be at least 4 minutes - but, according to a statistic I have read, most Americans brush their teeth in less than 40 seconds! When brushing in less than 40 seconds, not enough time is spent on cleaning the nooks and crannies in between your teeth - and that is where bacteria loves to hide!

Prevention of GingivitisStopping Gingivitis is simple really. Brush your teeth at least twice a day - in the morning and before going to bed and flossing at least daily. The brushing and flossing ritual should last for at least 3 to 5 minutes. Also, floss first before brushing to clean away loosened food particles and bacteria. Visit your dentist regularly.

Tips for brushing

Brush at least twice a day. If you can, brush after every meal. Brushing removes plaque, a film of bacteria that clings to teeth. When bacteria in plaque come into contact with food, they produce acids. These acids lead to cavities. Place a pea-sized dab of fluoride toothpaste on the head of the toothbrush. (Use a soft toothbrush.) Place the toothbrush against the teeth at a 45-degree angle to the gum line. Move the brush across the teeth using a small round motion. Continue with this motion cleaning one tooth at a time. Keep the tips of the bristles against the gum line. Avoid pressing so hard that the bristles lie flat against the teeth. (Only the tips of the toothbrush clean the teeth.) Let the bristles reach into spaces between teeth. Brush across the top of the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Make sure the bristles get into the groves and crevices. Use the same small round motion to clean the backside of the upper and lower teeth - the side that faces the tongue. To clean the inside of the bottom front teeth, angle the head in an up-and-down position toward the bottom inside of the mouth and move the toothbrush in a small circle. For the inside of the top front teeth, angle the brush in an up-and-down position with the tip of the head pointing towards the roof of the mouth. Move the toothbrush in a small circle. Give your tongue a few gentle brush strokes, brushing from the back of your tongue forward. Do not scrub. This helps remove bacteria and freshens your breath. After brushing your teeth for two to three minutes, rinse your mouth with water. Replace your toothbrush with a new one every 3 to 4 months.Well there you have it, preventing gingivitis is not that hard. It is just a matter of sticking to daily oral hygiene. But if you already have gingivitis, cleaning by a professional dentist is needed. The good thing is there are dentists in your area ready to help you out. While you're at it, why not save money as well by enrolling in a discounted dental plan? Discount dental plans are designed for individuals, families and groups looking to save money on their dental care needs. Participating dental care providers have agreed to accept a discounted fee from plan members as payment-in-full for services performed. The herb is also a powerful antioxidant and has glucoquinine (lowers blood sugar levels). Bilberry is used to treat eye problems such as Macular Degeneration, diabetic neuropathy, and/or cataracts.

What I said. It is not outcome that the actual about Sore On Gums Health. You see this article for information about what you want to know is Sore On Gums Health.

How is The Health Benefits of Bilberry

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Sore On Gums Health.

Benefits of Bilberry

Bilberry is found mostly in dark skinned fruits. It is used to treat diarrhea, vericose veins, and mucous membrane inflammation. The herb is beneficial in the treatment of hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) and in eye health.

This herb may also help night vision. During World War II, British Pilots ate bilberry jam before going out on night flights. They claimed it improved their vision. It is believed that the bilberry herb helps the eyes to adjust to changes in light quickly. This is one of the greatest benefits of bilberry and can be very beneficial for ones eyes according to many studies.

In Europe it is used to treat venous insufficiency- a condition that causes swelling and varicose veins. It further relieves pain and itching, and it also. Helps combat skin ulcers on the legs. Reynaud's disease may benefit from bilberry. Reynauds causes pain and numbness in the outer extremities (fingers, toes and nose) when cold.

Bilberry improves circulation and makes artery walls. The herb may reduce inflammation, ease gastro-intestinal problems, and gum problems that have been linked to heart disease. Diarrhea and mouth sores can benefit from Bilberry as well. Bilberry has strong antiseptic properties, relieves peptic ulcers, diabetes, fibrocystic diseases, and painful menstruation.

Our conclusion For The Benefits Of Bilberry

Because of Bilberry's strong antioxidant composition, the herb makes an excellent free radical scavenger, which helps combat the cell damage that leads to premature aging and disease. The most noted benefit that we briefly discussed above, is its ability to treat a range of problems relating to ones eye health. For example, the herb protects collagen structures in the blood vessels of the eyes, thus promoting healthy capillaries that carry many vital nutrients, such as oxygen-rich blood to your eye muscles.

Various Studies have confirmed that the benefits of bilberry go even further than one might be aware of. The herb can be useful for protecting against macular degeneration, cataracts, night blindness, and poor or fading vision. We believe bilberry to be one of the best herbs available for the protection of ones eyes health. Clinical studies have even shown that if given orally to healthy people, it improves visual accuracy. Our conclusion is that everyone should consider consuming bilberry as it helps as part of an overall maintenance of ones health.

Other benefits of bilberry include treating menstrual cramps and helping aid stomach ulcers. Varicose veins, thrombosis, angina, and poor circulation may also be improved with the use of bilberry, as the herb helps with healthy blood flow.

Our last point to note is that bilberry contains a substance called glucoquinine, which has the ability to lower ones blood sugar levels significantly and its antioxidant, anthocyanin, within the herb itself, can reduce high blood pressure.

Possible Precautions for those considering using Bilberry

Some side effects related to the use of Bilberry, include the possibility of: stomach upset, dizziness, or headache. It could cause diarrhea, and thin out blood. Caution should be used as bilberry could interfere with medications. However, there are no known adverse interactions with prescription drugs, or have there been any harmful effects noted in the literature for this herb to the best of our knowledge. As always, though, use your common sense when taking nutritional supplements: if you notice any unwanted side effects, discontinue usage, or reduce your dosage level straight away. Remember to always consult with a qualified physician before beginning supplementation of any kind.

Pregnant or nursing women should always refrain from supplementation with nutritional products until they speak with their personal doctor.

Our opinion on the Bilberry Herb

The evidence for bilberry's benefits as a herb are long, varied, and shown in many clinical trails when it comes to treating eye disorders and maintaining clear vision in healthy individuals. However, many of the recent beneficial discoveries need further study in our opinions to validate the benefits further. Among these new findings are bilberry's benefits for menstrual cramps and helping treat stomach ulcers.

Because of the many benefits of bilberry, along with more or less unknown adverse side effects, we would say it is a supplement well worth checking out especially since there is a lack of side effects of bilberry -- unlike many other herbs on the market.

Tips On Getting The Best Benefits Of Bilberry

1. Make sure you purchase a bilberry supplement produced with a standardized extract. Standardized extracts contain the highest level of therapeutic benefits within the herbs. Most other herbal supplements on the market, however, do not even contain the amount of ingredients stated on the label. This is worrying within the nutritional industry and consumers need to take this issue seriously.

2. Dosages range from 20 to 160 mg. However, people who are in good overall health should take lower dosage levels, but maintain long term use. However, those people with specific conditions, such as macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, etc mentioned above in our article, may wish to supplement with dosage levels in the higher ranges, but do not go over what we have stated above.
